Burt was one of the first dogs we took on - and sadly several months later he is still with us
Burt is between 5-8 years old and is a staff x terrier. He came into the pound as a stray almost a year ago. He was extremely stressed in kennels, refusing his food and chewing on his tail until it bled. He was due to be destroyed but on the very last day SNDogs found him a foster family and got him to safety. He quickly put all the weight back on, his tail healed and his coat now shines with health.
Burt is a very cuddly dog who would be very happy to spend his life on the sofa with you. He's extremely intelligent, knows several tricks and picked up clicker training in a matter of minutes! He's a great size too, not too small but not too big
So why is it that in so many months of being with us we haven't had one single enquiry about Burt? Not one!
He does need to be an only dog as he doesn't like other dogs and definitely not cats although his foster family does have chickens.
He can't go with young children as he does get stressed and anxious so needs a calm, quiet home.
But I think a big part of it is because Burt is a middle aged, slightly greying, brindle Staff x. No one looks at him
He does need a special home, an understanding home. But for that right home he will, I'm sure, prove to be one of those special dogs that you never forget.
Burt is neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped. SNDogs will also arrange for a behaviourist to visit and work with his new owner as part of his adoption as we really want to see this boy finally settled.
Burt has been waiting far too long for his home - can you help?
